Capabilities

AI answers, conversation restoration, floating/inline display and operator handoff.

Configuration checklist

  • Configure greeting, AI instructions and supported content context.
  • Enable Inbox handoff for a live operator.

Verify before publishing

  • Test conversation restoration and handoff end-to-end.
  • AI is not guaranteed to know facts absent from configured content.
  • Verify published status and that the generated widget ID belongs to the intended site.
  • Test the embed on desktop, mobile and an actual external page.

AI capabilities and context

How this widget uses AI, what information it receives, and when human review is needed.

What the AI knows

  • Configure manual instructions and up to 20 suggested question/answer pairs in the widget editor. These answers appear as suggestions and also contribute to the AI prompt context.
  • An owner-triggered indexing job crawls the configured same-origin website (up to 30 pages, 500 chunks and 5,000,000 cleaned characters). It uses PostgreSQL full-text search, not embeddings or a vector database.
  • For a visitor question, Pliget retrieves up to four relevant, widget/tenant-scoped page chunks with source URLs. Manual knowledge and Q&A remain higher-priority context.
  • The assistant does not automatically read every other widget, private Inbox messages, visitor leads or arbitrary third-party pages. Site-wide cross-widget knowledge is planned, not active.

How it works

  • Visitor sends a message. The server combines recent conversation history, configured instructions/Q&A and any retrieved site excerpts before calling the configured AI provider.
  • The AI reply and retrieved source references are stored in the same durable conversation. Provider-reported token usage consumes Credits.
  • If retrieval has no relevant result, a knowledge-gap record can be created. Visitors may provide thumbs-up/down feedback; operators can turn corrected answers into Q&A.

Human handoff and Inbox

  • A conversation uses one transcript across AI and owner replies. Modes are ai, waiting-human and human; status is open or resolved.
  • If the AI provider is unavailable, the conversation can begin waiting for a human. A handoff keeps the message history rather than starting a separate thread.
  • Open /app/inbox and select the AI Support conversation to read the transcript and reply. An owner reply switches the mode to human.
  • Replies are stored before WebSocket delivery. Connected visitors can receive replies live; returning visitors restore the transcript. Offline push notifications and guaranteed out-of-session delivery are not implemented.

Limitations and operational requirements

  • A published widget must have the necessary provider setup and Credits for provider-backed responses.
  • Indexed pages can be stale until the owner runs indexing again. There is no automatic periodic recrawl and no embedding-based search.
  • Knowledge is contextual evidence, not a guarantee of accuracy; human support remains important.

Integrations and connections

These are operational connections and external destinations, not marketing-only recommendations.

The widget uses the standard Pliget script embed. You do not need to build or bundle the widget into your website.

If your widget collects data, review its individual connection options and limits before publishing.

Pliget Inbox

Internal operator handoff

Configure chat and operator workflow. Independently verify realtime handoff before relying on it in production.

Server-side inference

AI responses are generated through configured backend providers; credentials are not entered into the visitor-facing widget.

Supported languages

Pliget interface and widget localization options. Auto follows the configured locale behavior; not every content field is automatically translated.

Appearance themes

Available shared widget themes. Individual layouts may have their own material treatment while respecting the selected theme.

Install on your website

  1. Create the widget in your Pliget dashboard and configure its content and appearance.
  2. Save and publish it. Drafts are not delivered by the public widget endpoint.
  3. Copy the embed snippet from the widget editor and place it on the target website.
  4. Verify the public widget on desktop and mobile. Make sure the site origin and publication settings are correct.
<script async src="https://cdn-dev.pliget.com/widget.js" data-widget="YOUR_PUBLISHED_WIDGET_ID"></script>

Illustrative snippet: use the exact generated code and widget ID from your dashboard. Do not reuse another site's ID.

Limitations and prerequisites

AI may be unavailable or uncertain; human handoff and indexing reliability require end-to-end verification.
